Bayern Munich conceded a goal after just eight seconds despite being the team to kick off as a Manuel Neuer clanger cost them against Augsburg. Neuer played a weak chip as he was closed down but could not avoid forward Robin Fellhauer, who caught him in possession after just two seconds
Luis Diaz had played the ball straight back to the legendary goalkeeper, who played himself into trouble. Fellhauer claimed the ball with Neuer well outside of his box, and drove forward with composure to slot the ball into the net with a handful of seconds on the clock.
Fellhauer's effort set a new Bundesliga record as he found the net fast enough to usurp a mark that had stood for 12 years. Karim Bellarabi scored for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund in 2014 after nine seconds, and that was matched in 2015 when Kevin Volland also scored against Bayern Munich, for Hoffenheim.

Bayern Munich found their way back into the game when Ismael Saibari found the net after 55 minutes, but their hosts were able to take the lead again. Neur won't look upon Augsburg's second strike with fond memories after he parried Calvin Brackelmann's effort into the path of Rodrigo Riberio, who made no mistake to tap in the rebound.
Nathaniel Brown secured a point for the Bundesliga giants with an 80th-minute equaliser as Bayern slipped up for the second time this season and allowed Borussia Dortmund to take top spot.
But it was record-breaker Fellhauer who would take the headlines from the game. "It's indescribable because you're part of something really big. Someone has to make up for those eight seconds now," he said.
Neuer's performance could yet put his position under scrutiny with less than a year remaining on his contract. The World Cup winner signed a contract extension in the summer and now shares minutes with Jonas Urbig in Bayern's net.
The 23-year-old has played just one Bundesliga match this season but he made his Germany debut during the international break, keeping a clean sheet against Germany. Lothar Matthaus has high expectations for the youngster.
"I see Jonas Urbig as a serious challenger,” Matthäus wrote. “His build-up play, his movements, his saves, and how he intercepts crosses – I thought I saw the young Manuel Neuer there.”
Neuer, 40, has already hinted that he could retire at the end of the season. Speaking during pre-season he admitted it looked to be the direction he was heading towards.
"I don't play the matches just to say, 'This is my last game,'" Neuer said. "It doesn't matter whether this might have been my last time at one stadium or another – we'll see. It certainly looks very much as though I'm going to retire."
