Welcome to Mirror Football's Manchester City Premier League charges live blog.
Enzo Maresca's side took to the field for the first time after being found guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules. Anfield offered a frosty atmosphere on Sunday, but after Ryan Gravenberch's red card, City swept Liverpool aside to record a 3-0 win.
The fallout to that result and City leading the Premier League has seen a great deal of frustration over the club's punishment still being unknown. City also await the result of their appeal.

City did get a hint of what this season could look like as they were booed before, during and after the match at Anfield and saw their passing punctuated by the shout of 'cheats' as they coasted to victory against the Reds.
Maresca's men will play in front of their home crowd and be offered some brief respite in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Stay with us for the latest football news, updates and developments surrounding City's charges.
Wayne Rooney has reaffirmed that he would not accept a Premier League medal for finishing as runner-up to Manchester City.
Asked by Match of the Day host Kelly Cates whether he’d accept a retrospective award, Rooney said he wouldn't be keen.
"It’s difficult. I look at it from the players’ point of view. I’m assuming all the players didn’t know what was going on.
"They went onto the football pitch and won the league, while we finished second. We didn’t finish first. Why would we want a medal for finishing second?"

Manchester City's match with Liverpool rankled Premier League executives so much that some started to discuss whether City should be 'immediately suspended', per the Independent.
It remains unlikely that will occur with a vote required to take the action. Though the Independent Commission would be able to implement that sanction if that is what they decide.

Former Manchester United player Paul Pogba was asked about the Manchester City charges during his appearance at the Singapore Grand Prix. His answer was short and sweet.
"I have nothing to say, to be honest. I just hope it doesn't affect the Premier League and hopefully we can get two titles back."
Pogba finished behind Manchester City in 2018 and 2021, though City have only been found guilty of breaking rules in the first of those seasons.

Roy Keane has suggested he would be ‘disgusted’ if he was a Manchester City player following their landmark verdict.
The ex-Manchester United captain has absolved the club’s stars of any blame but noted that they should feel particularly let down by City’s behaviour.
Speaking on Sunday, he said: “This is nothing against the players or supporters, this is an ownership issue. If you’re going after the big prizes, we’ve been fortunate to pick one or two up. You want to do it honestly.
“You want to look back at your career and think we did everything. You win some games, you lose some games.
“You can’t be looking back at what Man City have done and found guilty of, I know there’s an appeal. We’ve been sitting here and praising Man City and saying they’re amazing and bringing in amazing players. And Pep turning really good players into superstars.
“But the way they were doing it, that’s the issue, nothing on the players. If I was a player and there were stories about stuff we were doing at Manchester United, I’d be disgusted. I’d be disgusted if there were any dodgy dealings and anyone cooking the books
"Some people think this is a bit strong, but I wouldn't feel like I've earned a league title if there was something dodgy going on in the background. Absolutely not.
“We talk about lads going out and giving their all and picking up injuries but that is your job, that’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re giving it your all.
"You just hope everyone is else is on the same page and being honest and everyone else is trying to do it the proper way.
“I hear a lot of ex-players saying that Man City players gave it their all, we know that. That’s not the issue. But they had unbelievable players on the bench to come on and make them stronger and get them over the line against teams like Liverpool who are pushing each other."

A number of Premier League managers have called upon City's situation to be resolved as fast as possible. Asked if he hoped that was the case so that his team can enjoy their wins, Enzo Maresca suggested he was happy enough after beating Liverpool.
“You cannot imagine how happy I am,” he replied. “I don’t care. I’m here to try and prepare games and to win games. Hopefully I can speak about this situation when we win the appeal.”
Such was his discomfort with commentating on Manchester City yesterday that Gary Neville would happily be off their games until their situation is resolved.
"We were just doing the podcast then and said if you could take me off Manchester City games moving forward for the next few months until the verdicts have been heard, I would be absolutely delighted," he said.
"To come and win at Anfield is really difficult, we should be eulogising over them without a but or any hesitation, but there is that thing in the back of your mind."

Enzo Maresca has told his players to make their own noise with the performances, and was pleased they did against Liverpool.
Following City's win over the Reds, he said:
“My message to the players since we were together three days ago, when they all came back from their national teams, has been quite clear: guys, the noise will always be there so it’s about how we learn to deal with the noise and it’s our duty to make our noise. Our noise is to win games in the way we did today and to be happy. It was our fans making the noise at the end of the game today.”

Premier League clubs believe Manchester City should be expelled from the top flight next season if their appeal against the financial charges fails, per reports.
Premier League clubs 'do not expect' City to remain in the top flight next season if their appeal fails. It has also been claimed that 'many believe' a points deduction would not be sufficient if it resulted in City spending just one season outside the Premier League.
Thanks for joining us once again as we continue to see and await the fallout from Manchester City's guilty verdict. We'll bring all of the updates throughout the day.
