Liverpool vs Como – Official Lineups as Inter target Jones misses out

Curtis Jones has been left out of Liverpool’s squad for their second friendly against Como, adding further intrigue to the midfielder’s future amid reported interest from Inter.

The two teams had already faced each other behind closed doors earlier on Sunday, playing out a goalless draw at the AXA Training Centre. They meet again in front of supporters, but Jones will play no part after being omitted from the matchday squad.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool have confirmed that the England international is instead scheduled to complete individual work. Jones also missed last week’s friendly against Monaco because of a minor hip problem.

The latest absence is inevitably likely to fuel speculation surrounding Inter’s interest in the 25-year-old, although there is no confirmation that the decision is transfer-related.

Jones has reportedly been monitored by the Nerazzurri as they assess midfield options, making his continued absence particularly noteworthy during the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Como boss Cesc Fabregas has meanwhile handed Trevoh Chalobah a starting role, while keeping Nico Paz, Maxence Caqueret and Alvaro Morata among the substitutes.
